Life Safety Codes

Thomas R. Demont, AHC, CIL, CML, CSI has been in the security field for over 50 years. Ten years in the US Navy as a master locksmith and senior security specialist. Presently Tom is the director of sales and marketing for ASSA High Security Locks in New Haven, CT. He is also the past president of the High Security Lock Manufacturers Council, a board of director for the International Investigative Locksmith Association and the World Industrial Security Locksmith Association. He is also a Certified ACE Instructor for the Associated Locksmiths of America.

DESCRIPTION:

This is a mandatory class for the Security Professional of the 21st Century.  The areas covered will include the new International Building & Fire Code IBC-2006, Underwriters Laboratories listings for hardware, Accessibility, Doors, N.F.P.A. 80-1999-2007, 101-2006, Door and Hardware Institute guide to the ADA Act of 1990. 

OBJECTIVES:  

At the conclusion of the training, the student will be familiar with Building and Fire codes pertaining to hardware in the Means of Egress, Life Safety and alternative approaches, ADA hardware, accessibility, Doors and labels, Underwriters Laboratories testing procedure and how it determines what hardware we sell, and most importantly avoid any legalities with your work.

ASSA High Security Locks

Certification Course

DESCRIPTION:

This is a must-have class for the security professional of the 21st Century.  The areas covered will include the ASSA standard Twin, Twin Exclusive, Twin Pro, and Twin V-10 and Twin Maximum keying systems. Mortise, rim, cabinet, desk, IC, and utility lock cylinders. The new C4 access control audit trail cylinder tied to the ASSA key.                         

OBJECTIVES:  

At the conclusion of the training program, the student will be familiar with all aspect of the ASSA keying system and the various different kinds of cylinders’ keyed into the ASSA system.  The student will be able to maintain and service any ASSA cylinder in use at their facility. The student will review the new C4 system and understand its use in the security make-up of their facility.
